March 11, 2009 - my true new years eve

so i had an interesting day today. i come into work and it turns out someone was in our office and tried to steal my laptops.

my old laptop had died so the company got me a new one. i was in the process of using both and transitioning this week. This morning i come into work and my old laptop is at another desk. My coworker who gets in early in the morning said that when he came in, he did he regular routine and then heard some rustling around. he asked, whos there? and then a head popped up from my desk!!! my coworker then proceeded to tell him to GET THE F OUT and physically manhandled him to push him out of the office.

after a review of the elevator tapes, it turns out the guy followed my coworker into our office...right behind him! he then crawled to my desk, unhooked my old laptop...then crawled the next desk and tried to unhook my new laptop. thats when my coworker caught him. wow! scary.

my coworker is a brave man, no? he could have been hit over the head as he walked in or worse. he was totally alone. well, in any case....

the rest of the day was pretty productive. my new laptop was ready to go around lunchtime....these past few weeks my old laptop was acting funny and dying on me...so it was tough to even work. i couldnt even use outlook, so ive been on web exchange which STINKS. ive been so behind, not able to follow up on most things and cant find any past emails. but today i went through over 400 emails in my inbox just begging for attention. i felt great after i got through them.

i organized my desk and threw out old files and paper. 2 garbage bags worth. i then restructured my desk....and cleaned up everything.

tonight for dinner...i am eating left over kam ja tang. which totally hit the spot even though i had it already last night.

i am about to shower....and find some time to just groom myself. i have been bummy for the past few weeks....messy work desk, messy house, messy hair, messy everything. but tonight, i start anew.

tomorrow i just may find it in me to wear lipstick again. or something other than sneakers!

but for now...shower and then get ready for Lost. its time for me to get a new outlook and a fresh start.
